The universe shuddered
and he was gone,
Our Orpheus taken in one
jangle of time’s contraction.
My visceral earthquake
and that morning I knew
we had lost a piece
of our place in the infinite.
If harmony’s spheres exist
In galaxies of endless dark
Over fractured time he will
join them and play again.
Terrance will be sorely missed. Said he many times as a violin teacher/coach: learn the notes, make sure of the intonation and, then, JUST PLAY. And play on I will in his honor.
